I got the sunshine award!

Yay i woke up and found that Hot Pink Combat Boots had given me the sunshine award! Thank you!!!

sunshine_award by Selina Boullin

I have to say it was the perfect time to receive it as i was on my way to the hell that is the dentist and from there the day only got worse! think money troubles, constant pain and a lot of tears but today is a new day and the sun is shining, so i shall stop my moaning and get down to business!

The rules for the Sunshine Award are:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them.
2. Tell us something about yourself.
3. Nominate 10 other bloggers.
4. And let them know you awarded them!

1. Done! see beginning of post.
2. Some things about me....
I once wore pink everyday for about a year, i don't mean like head to toe in pink but at least something on my body was pink everyday. I was that cool!
I am incredibly messy but actually quite organised and dream of one day having a craft room (yes i do intend to be one of THOSE people, who spend far to much and long in craft shops buying stuff they don't need-lets face it, i already am) and in my craft room with be a wall made of shelves and drawers all different sizes for me to organise my buttons and ribbons etc. again cool much!?
I was a vegetarian for 22 years until i decided to stop last summer and start eating chicken, my sister was a vegetarian for 15 years until she decided to stop a couple of years ago and now she really enjoys steak! goes to prove that children brought up vegetarians are not being brainwashed by their parents into hating meat.

3. nominate people! I hate to admit my uncoolness but i really don't know ten people on blogger who might actually re blog this! i tend to be a bit of a fan girl and just silently stalk cooler peoples pages but i will give it ago anyway.

1. Out with the new, in with the old

3. Full measure of happiness

Craft Fair Bergen

So as it turns out i didn't go to the gig afterall.

The sun was shining when i met Ida, who looked wondeful and summery in her all blue summer dress and turquoise accessories.

Ida

After we had a cool beer, and an alcoholic ice cream sundae for me (because who cares about weight loss when it is so sunny out!?) we decided to just wander around town.

We visited craft shops to find wool for a project of mine and had a lot of fun dreaming up new projects, jewelry making, sweet making, dress making etc...

As i made my way back to the byban i noticed a large white marque over at festplassen and asked Ida if she knew what it was, apparently and so fittingly it was a craft fair. It felt only right to go and have a nosey.

Inside there were tons of beautiful handmade objects for me to drool over, from beautiful kitchen wear to some pretty interesting fashion pieces, but the thing that caught my eye the most were these little beauties...

earings
Pink and Cupcakey! it's like they were meant for me!!

Unfortunately the price was a little out of my range so i had to leave them behind *le sob* but i did take the lady who made them's card so fingers crossed i can get me a pair when i have a job.
The stall didn't only have jewelry but also cards, books and pillows with her illustrations on. I especially liked this pillow

The artists name is Annlaug Auestad and she has a blog and a website which i suggest you visit so you can see more of her wonderful work.

Also if you too like Ida enjoy turquoise accesories you should head over to The Beara Necessities, as she is holding an awesome giveaway where you could win this...
and all you have to do is leave her a comment about why YOU like summer! simple pimple!

Ujevnt

I have been thinking about doing some reviews/blog posts about some awesome places in Bergen for a while, but i never get round to taking pictures while i am there or if i do i tend to start a post and not finish it. However tonight as i sit at my computer wired from the coffee martini i recently enjoyed at one of my favorite bars, i thought what better time to tell my lovely blogger friends about it.

"Ujevnt" or uneven in its English translation is located in the center of Bergen, from the outside you can't really tell that a wonderful and cosy a bar is hidden beyond. In fact i walked past the bar many times for months on my way to university and only ever noted that they had very yellow plastic 70's style stools in the windows, it wasn't until i stepped inside one day that i truly realised what a great place it is.¨

syttende mai

One of the things i was most looking forward to on my list, was celebrating 17th Mai in Norway. Why? i hear you ask, because in Norway 17th May is a really big deal, it's the day Norwegians celebrate gaining their independence from the Danish in 1814(i think) and people really take it seriously here, it's not like england where on st George's day you see a few flags and maybe a few skinheads getting pissed in the name of our patron saint, here people don their bunads (national dress) or their smartest clothes and head out to watch parades and celebrate with family. So obviously with all this anticipation of Norwegian national pride i was very excited to go and join in the celebrations.

Changes

As you my loyal readers may have noticed, i have made a few changes to the ol' blogaroo. Mainly just organising it a little better so it is easy to find different posts. Also i have decided that seeing as i am not only blogging about completing my Norwegian list, but also my general life and soon some Daring Baker challenges, that it is better if i separate the different topics up and soon change the name (when i can get my designer/sister to edit the header for me)
I have quite a few different posts hanging around in my drafts which i have been meaning to post so i am going to try my best to get some of them done this week, but i do have a lot on at the moment as i am preparing to go and teach in finland for two weeks and then after that i am making a visit back to blighty to see friends and family. so i am a busy busy bee!

generic spring is here blog entry

This blog post is unlikely to be very interesting but it has been brought to my attention that March didn't get any blog entries not even small lame update ones! so here i am...
The title is a bit of a lie seeing as spring isn't really here although it is creeping it's way in with some glimpses of sunshine and highs of 8C!!!
I would like to tell you i have been not posting because i have been working hard on my dissertation but alas i cannot, my dissertation has come to a bit of a standstill as i just can't seem to get it to make sense.
I have been doing my teaching practise which is hard and is making me question if i really want to become a teacher yay blægh!
On a lovely note i have a new boyfriend he is wonderful!

There we go an update! yay
